David Bowie “Heroes”
LP cover restyle
The concept
1976-1979: Berlin Era | In the late '70s Bowie moved to Berlin, where he shared an apartment with Iggy Pop. Visiting galleries in Geneva and the Brücke Museum in Berlin he became a collector and a producer of contemporary art.

Both artists where highly influenced by Die Brücke (The Bridge), a group of German expressionist artists formed in Dresden in 1905, after which the Brücke Museum was named.
Both album cover photos were inspired by the 1917 painting named Roquairol by German artist Erich Heckel.
I decided to recreate the LP cover using a style that resembles the woodcut and linocut prints which characterise a wide part of Die Brücke production.
